Get Ready for Summer

Get ready for Summer

It's now time for hat wearing to protect your face from the hot summer sun.  We have been busy working on new hats and have been doing some unique things for the college crowd.

Of course the NCAA College World Series has been in Omaha and it got me thinking. I need to make hats representing team colors....

My original (hometown) teams colors were a bit difficult to accomplish so I combined colors and it worked perfectly.  Arkansas seems to be changing their university colors so when that is all settled,  we will be using their new color for sun hats.

Springfield Days was held last weekend and we met lots of new area residents. Summer is always a busy time but we love seeing you. If you have been thinking about a hat, please make an appointment and we can help you find a hat from our selection on hand or measure your head, determine your needs including date desired and we will start designing & creating.  That's exciting for both of us.

We were able to cooperate with another Omaha designer Wayne "Fella" Vaughn in providing the fashions and hats for two contestants for the Miss Nationwide pageant held last weekend in Houston.  Both of the contestants, Miss Nebraska Nationwide and Miss Iowa Nationwide were  in the top five and Miss Iowa Nationwide was crowned the winner.  Miss Nebraska Nationwide was the third runner-up.  It was so exciting working with these lovely young ladies and look forward to seeing them when they return.  They looked gorgeous in the personal style part of the competition wearing our designs.

Please stop in to our studio and say Hi.  Our address is 183 Main Street, Springfield, NE inside Springfield Artworks.  402-301-9162

Hats for little girls

It's Easter and First Comminion time. I have been busy making flowers and bows for some very special little girls. Even though our shop has been closed for Jan and Feb, there have been lots of behind the scene works "happening". There are lots of great ribbons and fabrics that you can choose from while the selection is at its best.

We got to have a little R and R before the busy Spring shopping season. Please come visit Margie Trembley Chapeaux and Springfield Artworks when we re-open in March.

Wow, Kentucky Derby is Over

Glenn and I had the opportunity to attend the Kentucky Derby 140th Running for the Roses last week. More importantly for me was the opportunity to participate in the Longines Kentucky Oaks Fashion Contest wearing one of my latest creations( hat that is). No diamond watch came home with me:(

My hat was ready, i was ready and the long line began. I was about #7 in line to walk the pink carpet but by the time I got to the beginning of the line I was #51 to strut ( did I really say that? LOL!) the pink carpet.

So you can see how anxious all the ladies were to get to the front of the line and push to get those prized numbers identifying them. There were enough numbers for all if us. 200 to be exact. It was fun taking pics of all the hats. Miss America introduced all if us without a break! There were three judges and I introduced myself to all of them. Lots of photographers were taking pics and a couple stopped me for a snapshot... Haven't seen it on the front page of any newspaper though  lol!

The closest we got to the real action was getting to see the jockeys come down the stairs before they jumped on their horses and the closet I saw of any celebs was Josh Elliott.

All in all, great time, great weather and great experience.

A New Design!

Models aren’t the only ones that will be wearing Margie Trembley Chapeaux hats on Friday and Saturday evening at Omaha Fashion Week!

Today Margie worked on her one-of-a-kind hat that she will be wearing Friday evening on the debut of her 2014 line.

Playing with different fabrics and materials, this hat will go through many changes before it is finished.

Hope to see you at Omaha Fashion Week!

Omaha Fashion Week Rehearsal Night

This evening 2014 Omaha FashionWeek rehearsal was held for the models, including the models of the Margie Trembley Chapeaux Couture line at the Omar Bakery in Omaha.

Meghan, Jennifer, Amber, Olivia, Jensen, Jasmine and Sydne practiced walking on the runway for the venue.

This was the first time the models carried the “Margie Trembley” hatbox and they made it look great on the runway. Just wait until they are in their dresses wearing the beautiful hats!

Welcome to Margie Trembley Chapeaux!

Welcome to the new Margie Trembley Chapeaux blog!

With Omaha Fashion Week, the Midwest's premier fashion event less than four days away, I could not wait to start a new blog sharing my journey!

My name is Margie and I am a milliner who owns a gallery and studio with my husband, Glenn, in Springfield, Nebraska, called Springfield Artworks. My Mother and Grandmother, who were both fiber artists, created functional art and influenced me in my work.

This will be my second time my hats make an appearance at Omaha Fashion Week and I am very excited to share my new collection!

Tickets are available for the night that my hats are on the runway. Visit with Omaha Fashion Week ticket page HERE to find your tickets for the show on March 7th!

On Saturday evening, three of my hats will also appear on Saturday evening on Fella's models.
